A Breathtaking Discovery of Exceptional South Africa
Discover the extraordinary landscapes and history of South Africa in two of the country’s most desirable destinations. Observe the fascinating contrast of modern and traditional culture, as reflected through groundbreaking architecture and design.
The experience begins in the heart of Cape Town, where you will be one of the first to stay at the newly opened five star hotel and architectural gem, The Silo. Immaculately designed by British industrial designer, Thomas Heatherwick, the building sits in a truly magical spot on the V&A Waterfront. Aston Martin will welcome you there with a Champagne reception, before a private dinner hosted by Aston Martin Executives at the Greenhouse, for a taste of exceptional modern South African cuisine.
Spend the following morning exploring Cape Town, before joining the Art of Living team for lunch at The Pot Luck Club located in the Old Biscuit Mill. Headed up by chef Luke Dale-Roberts and designed by architect Greg Scott, it is renowned for serving some of the most innovative and creative food in the country. In the evening, there will be a fantastic four-course dinner and wine tasting at The Silo Hotel, in an intimate dining room overlooking the breathtaking Table Mountain hosted by Aston Martin and a member of The Silo design team.
On the third day you will venture to the picturesque village of Franschhoek, staying at La Residence. Situated in its own Private Estate and surrounded by vineyards and orchards, this is a haven of tranquillity. You will be invited to an exclusive tour of the Franschhoek Motor Museum on the L’Ormarins Estate with owner Johann Rupert. This one-off viewing of the privately-owned collection of more than 200 vintage cars, will include a number of classic Aston Martin models. Delve into the history of the local area, alongside the heritage of Aston Martin with Johann and an Aston Martin Executive, gaining invaluable insight into company’s unique 103 year history.
On the following day, you’ll be taken on a private helicopter tour over the world renowned vineyards of Franschhoek – the oldest province in South Africa, and centre of wine production. After this incredible experience, you will visit the historically significant Babylonstoren for lunch and the chance to explore its magnificent gardens. With majestic views over three mountains, this spectacular Cape Dutch farm dates back to 1692, and boasts one of the best preserved farmyards in the Cape, yielding ingredients cultivated amid the property’s verdant grounds.
Enjoy a farewell breakfast on your final morning in the company of The Art of Living team before you return to Cape Town for your homeward journey.
